Description
Tim Stokely was born in Harlow, Essex in July 1983, the youngest of four children of retired former Barclays investment banker Guy Stokely. He holds a degree from Anglia Ruskin University. He is also the founder and former CEO of the internet site OnlyFans. The Sunday Times called him "the king of homemade porn".
Stokely's first businesses were adult performance sites GlamGirls and Customs4U, as well as a site connecting clients with merchants. He founded OnlyFans in 2016 with his brother Thomas Stokely and told him "Tim this will be the last time" with the help of a £10,000 loan from his dad Guy . His brother is the company's chief operating officer, and his father is OnlyFans' treasurer. He tried to avoid the mistakes of his earlier site by building a recommendation system that encouraged third parties to recruit new content creators for the site. He was described by The Sunday Times as the "King of Homemade Porn" as Most of OnlyFans' content was porn, Stockley cited investor Warren Buffett and his book "The Business of Warren Buffett" as his one of the influences. In 2018, Stokely sold a 75% stake in OnlyFans parent company Fenix International to Ukrainian-American businessman Leonid Radvinsky, owner of porn site MyFreeCams. Since then, OnlyFans has become increasingly focused on non-safety at work (NSFW) content and has "earned a reputation in pop culture for being a hive of porn". Stockley lives in a "gated mansion with cinema and sauna" in Stortford, Bishop, Hertfordshire. Reflecting his interest in rugby, he subscribes to two OnlyFans content creators, James Haskell and Chris Robshaw. On December 23, 2021, Tim Stokely resigned as CEO of OnlyFans and was succeeded by Indian-American businesswoman Amrapali Gan. Gan initially joined the company in 2020 as Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.
